This time round, our cultural venues – SeaCity Museum, Tudor House and Garden, and Southampton City Art Gallery – invite you to immerse yourself in a variety of programs that celebrate the beauty and joy of Spring. 

About Our Venues

SeaCity Museum

From Southampton to the sea – Explore the Titanic legacy at SeaCity Museum! Discover the story of RMS Titanic and how the tragedy affected the city and people of Southampton. It features an interactive model of the Titanic, recorded messages of its passengers of the fateful night, original objects from on board the world-famous ship, and more.

Tudor House and Garden

Tudor House is Southampton’s most important historic building, revealing over 800 years of history in one fascinating location at the heart of the Old Town. The timber-framed building gives a unique and atmospheric insight into the lives and times of both its residents through the years, and of Southampton itself. It appeals to visitors of all ages and interests, who find the family-friendly activities, interactive technology and fascinating displays a winning combination.

Southampton City Art Gallery

Explore Southampton City Art Gallery’s diverse collection of fine art, which tells the story of European art from the Renaissance to the present day. Regularly rotating displays feature works from the collection, national touring exhibitions and work by local artists. Free to visit – You’ll find us in the heart of Southampton’s cultural quarter.

From engaging children’s activities and kids’ arts and crafts to enriching workshops for adults, our cultural venues have something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for things to do with kids in Southampton, or planning a cosy day indoors with things to do on a rainy day, our packed programme has you covered.   • Mon 17 Feb – Fri 21 Feb – Southampton Culture Club for Kids February Half Term | 9am – 4pm
    • Join us for a few days of investigation and discovery for children who love learning through fun activities and being creative.
  • Mon 17 Feb – Tue 18 Feb – February Art School (Age 11 – 16yrs) | 10am – 3pm
    • Back for 2025 by popular demand! Be inspired by the artwork on display and try out new ideas supported by our team of artist educators.
  • Mon 17 Feb – Hands On History: Shiver Me Timbers | Various Times Available
    • A fun-filled family history session all about pirates! Set sail on a swashbuckling adventure as we dive into the world of notorious sea rogues.
  • Tue 18 Feb – Hands On History: Clay Viking Longboats | Various Times Available
    • Travel back to the time of Viking raiders, discover stories of battles and glory and create your very own piratical longboat from clay.
  • Wed 19 Feb – Art for All: Manga Club (7yrs+) | Various Times Available
    • Join other manga lovers and learn tips and techniques to create your own character and more using pen and coloured media.
  • Thu 20 Feb – Art for All: Bluey inspired Watercolour! (4yrs+) | Various Times Available
    • Let’s recreate everyone’s favourite blue pup! We’ll use water colours and fun collage techniques to make a ‘Bluey and friends’ inspired artwork.
  • Thu 20 Feb – Tour for All: Southampton Myths and Mysteries | 11am – 12.30pm
    • Did a king stay for Christmas in Southampton Castle? What’s so special about Tudor House’s cannon? And why did a Victorian gunmaker suddenly disappear? Discover these stories and many more!
  • Fri 21 Feb – Art for All: Pokémon Inspired Card Printing (5yrs+) | Various Times Available
    • Use polytiles to design and print your very own pokémon inspired cards! Be warned though, you won’t want to trade these fantastic creations.
  • Sat 22 Feb – Mini Monets Art Club (Under 7’s) | 10am – 11am
    • Experiment with different art styles, techniques and materials in a fun and accessible way – without making a mess at home!

Easter Activities

  • Mon 7 Apr – Hands On History: Awesome Egyptians (6yrs+) | Various Times Available
    • Join us for a fun-filled history session exploring the wonderful world of the Ancient Egyptians and to mummify your very own orange using ancient techniques!
  • Tue 8 Apr – Tour For All: Old Town Walking Tour | 11am – 12.30pm
    • Exploring some of the highlights and lowlights of Southampton’s past. Hear stories of adventure, villainy, pirates and much, much more!
  • Wed 9 Apr – Art For All: Clay Spring Chicks (4yrs+) | Various Times Available
    • Celebrate spring at this fun hands-on clay workshop, creating some adorable spring chicks!
  • Thu 10 Apr – Art for All: Watercolour Fairies (5yrs+) | Various Times Available
    • In 1917 in a village called Cottingley, two young cousins fooled the world with their photographs of ‘fairies’ in the back garden. Join us to be inspired by their story and create your own paper fairies!
  • Thu 10 Apr – Art for All: Animals in Watercolour (4yrs+) | Various Times Available
    • Let’s bring the animal kingdom to life with magical watercolours. This workshop gives you the tools you need to create your own vibrant watercolour animal portrait.
  • Fri 11 Apr – Art for All: A Trio of Spring Prints (6yrs+) | Various Times Available
    • Create a stunning trio of prints, inspired by nature in spring!

    • This workshop is all about expression! Create a portrait of yourself or someone you love, combining Polytile printing with Chalk pastel drawings to achieve colourful layered portraits.
